Bob first started working with databases on a BBC model B computer 25 years ago. Towards the end of the 80's Bob started working with Dbase designing applications that connected to a company wide ERP system, in particular designing a complex archive to retain and analyse data that would normally be lost after each period end was run in the main system.
Around about the time that Ashton Tate and Dbase disappeared Bob heard about Alpha 4 and thus started a long and productive working relationship with Alpha products from DOS base Alpha 4 version 3 right through to the newly released Alpha 5 version 9.
Bob has built a wide variety of applications using Alpha Five, details of some of which are featured in our Case Studies
Bob's flagship product is Funeral Manager, a comprehensive package which deals with
all aspects of running a busy funeral home and is now in use in over 120 funeral
homes in the UK ranging in size from single user to a 50 seat multi user installation.
In order keep abreast of technological developments within the database market Bob
is a frequent delegate at Alpha Technical events both here in the United Kingdom
and in the United States.
